NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL TORCH LANDS IN BAYELSA STATE

Bayelsa State Governor, Henry Seriake Dickson have officially received the Torch of Unity ahead of the 19th National Sports Festival slated in Abuja from 6th to 16th of December 2018.
Receiving the Torch of Unity at the Peace Park Yenagoa Bayelsa State Governor Henry Seriake Dickson represented by the Deputy Governor of the State Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah said sports is a unifying factor in the world because sports brings integration just as National Youth Service Corp (NYSC) stressing that Bayelsa State is ready participate in the 19th National Sports Festival more especially in key sports like Wrestling which the state is known for.
The number two man in the state also stressed that National Sports Festival without Bayelsa State is incomplete because Bayelsa State is known as a Sporting State.
Commissioner for Sports Development Mr.Perekiye Buruboyefe in his remarks Charged the athletes to go to Abuja and conquer, Maintaining that athletes are fully prepared for the National Sports Festival.
He also used the medium clear to the "We need Camp"Chanting by the athletes as not protest a demonstrating against government but as an expression of curiosity because they want to perform better than they did in the National Youth games in Kwara State as well as the previous editions.
Presenting the torch of Unity to the Deputy governor South-South Zonal Director of Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunny Obot said that torch is a symbol of national unity, He however said that henceforth their will postponement because states are now ready to host the National Sports Festival which has suffered several postponement.
