BSN Sports have reported on Wednesday that two South South states are being stripped of their medals won on Tuesday in gymnastics because they did not register for the tournament. BSN Sports further discovered that Edo state won gold medal in Cricket on Wednesday where they beat Team Oyo with 55 all out, Oyo chase and scored 54 all out, so, Edo won with one run. Due to this, there were rumours flying around that the ministry of Youth and Sports has rescinded the decision of stripping them of the medals. Reacting to this, Team Edo cricket coach, Theophilus who spoke with www.bsnsports.com.ng said that the issue has been resolved, he added that the medals won by Team Edo will be included on the medals table. He said his state already knew about it and assured the public that they are seriously working with the ministry if Sports in making sure that the medals won by the state are not withdrawn. The Director of Grassroots Sports Development, Dr. Demola Are however, refuted the rumour and stated clearly that the medals won by both states will not be included on the medals table. Speaking exclusively with BSN Sports, he said that the decision of the ministry of youth and sports remained unchanged.
