Nigeria’s table tennis team to the 2018 Liebherr 2018 World Team Table Tennis Championships in Halmstad, Sweden on Friday lost 3-0 to Slovakia in the quarter-finals of the competition, reports Bsn sports. It was the second defeat suffered by Nigeria in the hands of Slovakia. The defeat means the Nigerian team have failed to clinch a spot in the Championship division. Quadri Aruna who has been Nigeria’s best player at the tournament lost the team’s first game. The 29 year old lost 3-1 (11-7, 5-11, 11-8, 11-4) to Pistej Lubomi. Bode Abiodun could not bring Nigeria back on level terms as he lost 3-2 (11-5,12-14,11-8,9-11,7-11) to Novota Samuel in a keenly contested game.
