2019 AFCON: Nigeria Will Qualify for Nations Cup..... John Obu
By Niyi Busari
Former Flying Eagles tactician, John Obu expressed optimism that the Super Eagles will qualify for the 2019 African Nations cup despite trailing the group leaders Libya and South Africa on the Group E table.
Obu added that Nigeria has the quality to beat Libya home and away in the double games which will place them in a good position before the away game against South Africa.
"We have the quality to beat Libya home and away, I believe Super Eagles players will not like to miss out in the 2019 AFCON so they must strive to get the maximum six points from the double header."
He believes that Libya leading Nigeria on the log is an added advantage for Eagles as that will spur Eagles players on to defeat Libya in their next two matches.
"Libya leading Nigeria is an advantage to us because Super Eagles just have to win and make sure they did not lose in the home and away matches against Libya if we really want to overturn the table." Obu said.
Libya and South Africa are tie with four points each from two games, Nigeria on the third position with three points from same number of matches while Seychelles has no points in Group E of the 2019 African Nations cup qualifiers.
