2019 African Games: Taekwondo Gives Nigeria First Gold Medal

After 6 days of waiting since the commencement 2019 African Games, Team Nigeria has recorded its first goal medal at the ongoing 12th All African Games in Rabat Morocco.

Taekwondo was the first sport to put Nigeria name on the medals table after Nwosu Chinazum Ruth defeated Morocco's El Bouchnt Oumaima 26-22 in the 53kg.

The Moroccan prove difficult but the Nigeria athlete proved to be the better fighter among the two.

Nigeria also won two bronze medals in Taekwondo, taking total medals won by Nigeria to three.

Apart from winning the gold, she remained the first athlete to win medal for the country in this year events.

Nigeria finished second on the medals table in 2015 in Congo Brazzaville.
