2019 National Youth Games Starts September 7 - Ademola Are

Director, Grassroots Sports Development, Dr Ademola Are has said that plans have been concluded in making sure that the 2019 National Youth Games commences on 7th to 17th September, 2019.

Are while speaking with www.bsnsports.com.ng in his office said:

"The 2019 National Youth Games will be coming on 7th to 17th September, at the University of Ilorin the usual hosts venue.

He is confident that this year's National Youth Games will be hitch-free.

"We are putting in all efforts to make sure we have a more befitting hosting this year, the maximum age of the participating athletes must not be more than 15 years.

Meanwhile, University of Ilorin continues to be the host.

"The venue still remain University of Ilorin because of the 5 years memorandum of understanding signed between the University and the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports.

Ademola Are also spoke on the readiness of the participating states

"As at today registration is still ongoing for all the states and i think it is about three states that have not registered and i am sure they're going to comply and complete their registration before the end of this week.

"We have already had technical meetings with all the Directors which was held at University of Ilorin about two months ago. So, all the states are gearing towards the game, everyone is ready and all the sub-committees are already working and we are looking forward to the release of fund to make sure that we have effective planning and nit just planning theoretically."
