Prudent Energy Handball Premier League To Kick start with fan fare By Our Reporter The Prudent Energy handball premier league will kick off on Tuesday 14th of May 2019 at the indoor sports hall of the National Stadium, Abuja and teams, who are already in town are eating to go. As early as 7am, the women will set the pace for the day as Imo Grasshoppers of Owerri will face Owena Queens of Akure while Edo Dynamos of Benin will slug it out with defending champions Plateau Peacocks of Jos. Safety Babes of FRSC will then take on Desert Queens of Katsina while Abia Valliants of Umuahia will face Lagos's Seasiders Babes. The last game for the women on matchday one will see Kada Queens of Kaduna take Civil Defence's Defender Babes. In the men category, it's a battle of the north as Kada Stars of Kaduna will take on Bornu Spiders of Maiduguri while Lagos Seasiders of Lagos will face sports club, Kano Pillars of Kano. Owena Kings of Akure will certainly want to be on the offensive against the D. Defenders of Civil Defence while defending champions will slug it out with Army boys, COAS Shooters. The other games in the men category will see Safety Shooters of FRSC take on Prison Key Boys of Nigerian Prisons while Plateau Vipers of Kosovo and Sokoto Rima will close matchday one fixtures with a match of their own. Meanwhile, the President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Mr. Samuel Ocheho has welcomed the participating teams to the first phase of 2019 Prudent Energy Handball Premier League. The HFN President also urged the participating teams to conduct themselves in a respectable manner and play fair. "Fair play is the watchword for the league so I therefore urged the participating teams to conduct themselves with respect and adhere to the rules of the league". Ocheho said. The first phase of the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League will run through till the 25th of May 2019.
