  2020 Afrobasketball Qualifier: "Africa Possess Gifted Players" - Mike Brown By Sampson Adedeji Head coach of the Nigeria senior men's basketball team, Mike Brown, has said that African countries are physically gifted to achieve greater heights in the game, BSNSports.com.ng reports. The former Golden State Warrior gaffer who was appointed to lead the Nigerian team  took charge of the team for the very first time at Afrobasketball qualifier in Kigali, Rwanda. The team performed excellently well under his tutelage winning all the 3 matches against South Sudan, Rwanda and Mali. While speaking to Nigeria Basketball media, he emphasised on the uniqueness of Africa. “The game of basketball in Africa is unique from the standpoint that every team you look at possesses the athleticism necessary for the game. Physically, they are there and we have a lot of physically gifted players." When you put all together and try to bring out maximum potential from each of these African teams, it is something that everybody is striving for," he confirmed. Nigeria will resume the second round of qualifier in February 2021.
