2021 AFCON: Burkina Faso’s Gustavo Sangaré Scores Tournament’s First Goal By Our Reporter The much-awaited African Cup of nations has started with Gustavo Sangare of Burkina Faso scoring the first goal of the tournament in the 23rd minute, in their match against Cameroon. In the first five minutes, there was not much to highlight so far but Cameroon were the one insisted more on offensive function, but still failed to score a goal. In the same move, Cameroon goalkeeper, Onana had to save twice and after a cross from the right, Burkina Faso forward Gustavo Sangare scored with his left foot. Cameroonian captain, Vincent Aboubakar completely fooled Hervé Koffi and put the ball into the left side to tie the match, after he was given a penalty to play. For the second time, Vincent Aboubakar again, the Cameroonian captain fooled goalkeeper Koffi again and put the ball in the middle for the second goal before the first half after he was given the second penalty to play. The tournament opener ended 2-1 in favour of the host, Cameroon.
