2021 AFCON: CAF Disqualifies Chad
By Sampson Adedeji
The hope of Chad competing in the 2021 African Cup Of Nations in Cameroon in 2022 has finally been dashed. The Africa soccer governing body has disqualified the national team of Chad, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The reasons for the disqualification remained unknown as CAF failed to explain reason behind it, however, it may be in connection with the political interference of the country's authorities in football.
In December 2020, CAF had notified an interference by the Chadian political authorities in the management of local football.
Worse, the Chadian sports minister Routouang Christina has definitively withdrawn the delegation of powers to the Chadian Football Federation since March 11, 2021.
Chad was in Group A with Mali, Guinea and Namibia.
