2021 AFCON: Cameroon Likely To Lose Hosting Right Again By Sampson Adedeji Barely 24 hours after postponing the draw for the 2021 African Cup of Nations, Cameroon is on the verge of losing the right to stage the tournament, BSNSports.com.ng reports Cameroon lost the right to host 2019 tournament due to non-availability of required facilities and Egypt hosted the competition while Algeria emerged winner. Despite building new stadiums and rehabilitating the older facilities, they are yet to meet the required standard set by Africa soccer governing body to stage the 24-team tournament. The draw for the biennial competition which was fixed for June 25th was postponed to a later date citing corona virus pandemic issues. Two North Africa countries Morocco and last host Egypt are already hanging in the corner to stage the tournament if Cameroon is stripped of the hosting right.
