2021 AFCON: Osimhen debunks injury rumour, declares self fit for Benin Republic tie

Ahead of the 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin and Lesotho in November, Nigeria's Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has played down the injury he sustained in the French Ligue one match between his club LOSC Lille and Girondin Bordeaux last weekend.

BSN reports that Osimhen was substituted in the 57th minute for former France international Loic Remy following an injury he sustained in the encounter.

The former Junior International debunked the severity of the injury being peddling in some quarters that Osimhen will not be available for the Super Eagles for the double header 2021 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Benin Republic and Lesotho next month.

"I'm fine is just a minor injury" he stated.

Osimhen has netted 7 league goals in 11 matches for Lille and has scored a goal in the UEFA champions league.

He's expected to be named in the Super Eagles squad that will represent the country in the much awaited qualifier.
