Ex-international Emeka Amadi has told Nigerians not to worry about the perceived goalkeeping challenge that faced Super Eagles following the team's safe hand, Francis Uzoho six months injury, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Francis Uzoho who put up an excellent performance against and sustained a ligament injury against Brazil in the international friendly match played in Singapore. The injured goalkeeper will not be available for the Super 2021 African Nations Cup qualifier against Benin Republic and Lesotho.
The six months injury sent fears into Nigerians and there have been complain among Nigerians as to who is capable of being in the goal post for the next two matches.
Former Flying Eagles keeper Emeka Amadi when speaking exclusively with www.bsnsports.com.ng at the FIFA Goal Project inside Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja during the U23 training said that Nigerians should not panic because according to him, Nigeria is blessed with many good goalkeepers and reassured that Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Maduka Okoye are reliable and that any of them is good enough to safe Nigeria from defeat in the next two African Nations cup qualifying matches.
"We dont have goalkeeping problem. Nigeria is blessed with talented players all over the world. If Uzoho is injured and will not play in the next two Nations Cup qualifiers, the same way we discover Uzoho is the same we are going to discover another keeper who will be in the goal post." Amadi told BSN Sports.
"Maduka Okoye is good, he is learning very fast, also Ezenwa is an experience goal keeper. Experience is something you cannot buy anywhere, he continues.
"With Ezenwa and Okoye and may be another goalkeeper from the home based (Adamu) who is presently in the U23 Eagles are good enough to take us through the AFCON qualifiers.
"Though, i have not moved round but i know we have some goalkeepers in the NPFL as well as the European countries. He concluded.
