  2021 AFCON Qualifier: Benin Depart For Freetown By Sampson Adedeji After losing narrowly to Nigeria's Super Eagles in the match-day 5 of the African Nations Cup qualifier, Squirrels of Benin Republic have shifted attention to the final qualifier against Lone Stars of Sierra Leone, BSNSports.com.ng reports. RKC Genk of Belgium striker, Paul Onuachu, broke the hearts of Beninoise on Saturday with a late strike to pour cold water on the qualification of Benin Republic. Sierra Leone had earlier in the day held Crocodiles of Lesotho to a goalless draw in Setsoto Stadium in Maseru which gave a little hope to the Sierra Leoneoans. The Squirrels through the new outlets of its federation vows to get the passage ticket in Freetown on Tuesday. The team also departed for Freetown on Sunday afternoon for the decider. " Our Valiant Squirrels confident and determined embark this Sunday for Freetown. They have a message for you, " we will bring back the qualification," the statement reads. Squirrel required a draw to progress while Sierra Leone needed an outright win to qualify.
