2021 AFCON Qualifier: Rohr Hope To Secure Ticket Against Sierra Leone
By Sampson Adedeji
After the international friendly matches against Dessert Foxes of Algeria and Carthage Eagles of Tunisia, Nigeria's Super Eagles head coach, Gernot Rohr, is hoping to secure ticket to 2021 African Cup Of Nations when they face the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone in November, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The former Africa champion will face Sierra Leone in November in the match day 3 and 4 of the qualifier, knowing that a win in those two matches will take them to the competition.
Nigeria recorded a back to back victory in the match day 1 and 2 against Benin Republic and Lesotho which put them in the driving seat of the group.
Rohr stated that the friendly matches played in October will propel the team when the qualifiers resume.
"I believe these very good friendly games will help us to return to winning ways when we play Sierra Leone next month(home and away).
Good results next month may see us qualifying for the 2022 AFCON already," he said.
Nigeria will host the first leg before traveling to Freetown for the second leg.
