2021 NNL Super 8: Shooting Stars, Remo In Top of The Clash As Tornadoes Aim To Topple Warriors By Niyi Busari All the eight teams that qualified for the 2021 NNL Super 8 tasted actions on match-day 1 with wins, draws and losses recorded. Going into Matchday 2, all the teams in Group A, the Northern Conference are level on one point with El-Kanemi Warriors and Gombe United having scored a goal and conceded one to be slightly above the other two teams that played goalless in their opening fixture.  If the Warriors triumph against Niger Tornadoes this morning, they stand the chance of topping the table depending on the outcome of Gombe United's match.  Remo Stars' big win last night places them on top of Group B of the Southern Conference. And they will clash with desperate Shooting Stars who are on the second position based on goal difference after their slim win against Bendel Insurance yesterday. The second group game between Shooting Stars and Remo Stars is scheduled for 11:am. Bendel Insurance who narrowly lost (1-2) to Shooting will look forward to redeem their image when they face Ekiti United who lost 0-3 to Remo Stars on Tuesday. Shooting Stars themselves must overwhelm Remo Stars to stay on track for promotion as the group look tighter by the day.  The top two teams in each group will be elevated to the top flight, the NPFL in the new season beginning next month.  Match-day 2 Fixtures   Group A (Northern Conference): El-Kanemi Warriors v Niger Tornadoes (8:30 am) Gombe United v DMD (4 pm) Group B (Southern Conference): Shooting Stars v Remo Stars (11 am) Bendel Insurance v Ekiti United (6 pm) Match-day 1 Results Group A (Northern Conference): Gombe United 1-1 El-Kanemi Warriors DMD 0-0 Niger Tornadoes Group B (Southern Conference): Bendel Insurance 1-2 Shooting Stars Ekiti United 3-0 Remo Stars
