Less than a month to the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations in Morocco, injury has surfaced in the camp of Nigeria's Super Falcon group opponent Bayana Bayana of South Africa, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

The team coach, Desiree Ellis, released the list of 28 players that are expected to resume camping on Friday.

Their preparations for the tournament were dealt a huge blow after Gabriella Salgado suffered the injury on Wednesday, which rules her out of action for eight weeks.

The JVW midfielder fell and broke her collarbone while playing for her Hollywoodbets Super League side in a midweek match against Bloemfontein Celtic Ladies.

“It is a massive loss because she has been a key player for us. But this also gives others in the squad an opportunity to step up. We wish Gabby a speedy recovery,” the coach confirmed.

Meanwhile, Rhoda Mulaudzi has been called up as a replacement for the injured player.

Bayana Bayana will face the defending champions Super Falcons in the opening group game.
