Ahead of the opening group c game against Nigeria's Super Falcons, Banyana Banyana of South Africa defender Matlou has urged his teammates to put in their best in the game, BSNsports.com.ng reports.
The two teams will square up on Monday in the game that will open the group and last edition's first runners-up is a strong favourite in this edition.
Matlou said that Super Falcons will have revenge on their mind having lost to South Africa in their last encounter played in Lagos during the Aisha Buhari cup.
“If you can remember Nigeria recently has never beaten us in 90 minutes, it’s either we win, or like the last time, we went to the penalties.
“Last year we won at the Aisha Buhari Cup, so it is an advantage for us even though there is no game that is going to be easy, remember Nigeria will want revenge.
“So we just have to go there and play our normal game and do our best.
“It’s not only Nigeria, people are concerned about Nigeria, you can look at the underdog Botswana, they are coming there very hard, and football in Botswana is growing.
“So it shows that in our group there is no team that is going to be easy and especially when teams are playing South Africa, they come hard on us,†she said.
