Nigeria's arch rival in African women's football, South Africa has released a 'killer' Banyana Banyana final list that will battle Super Falcons in the 2022 African Women Cup of Nations in Morocco, BSNsports.com.ng reports.
Recall the last time both teams locked horns in September 2021, Banyana Bayana emerged champions of the inaugural Aisha Buhari Cup after they flogged Super Falcons 4-2 infront of their home fans at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos.
Just as promised by South Africa Football Association ( SAFA) over the weekend, Thembi Kgatlana of Atletico Madrid and captain Janine Van Wyk of Glasgow City were among the stars that made the final list.
The team under Desiree Ellis has been in closed camping in the last one week in readiness for the biennial tournament.
Ellis had over the weekend dropped five players from the team and promised that the final list of players will be release on Monday.
The list consists of 23 players which includes three goalkeepers, six defenders, eight midfielders and six attackers while three players were placed on standby.
Bayana Bayana will open their campaign in the competition against Nigeria's Super Falcons on the 4th of July.
