2022 CWG: Ogunsemilore Wins Bronze For Team Despite Defeat To Irish Boxer

Cynthia Ogunsemilore claimed a bronze medal on Saturday to increase Team Nigeria's medal haul, BSNSports.com.ng reports.


It was a first medal in boxing despite Ogunsemilore losing her Women's over 57kg - 60kg lightweight semi-final bout to Amy Sara Broadhurst from Northern Ireland.

All eyes were on Ogunsemilore who won hers quarter-final in style beating Aratwa Kasemang of Botswana by RSC (Referee Stops Contest).

Broadhurst got the upper hand off Ogunsemilore winning by a Unanimous Decisions (0-5), thus making the Nigerian boxer to settle for a bronze medal at the ongoing Commonwealth games.
