2022 NBBF Champions: Kwara Falcons Yet To Get N1m Prize Money 7 Months After

Kwara Falcons the champions of the 2022 Nigeria Professional Basketball League have not received the One Million naira (N1m) prize money seven months after lifting the trophy, www.bsnsports.com.ng can report.

Kwara Falcons in November, 2022 won the championship after they defeated Nigeria Customs, 78-53 in the finals of the NBBF Super 8.

Mr Bello, the Secretary of Kwara Falcons wondered why the money has not been paid even after they have officially contacted the federation several times with the last time in February 2023.

"Kwara Falcons have not received the N1m prize money on the dud cheque the NBBF promised to pay as the 2022 Champions of the basketball league, He told BSN Sports.

"We have written many letters as reminder without getting any response from the NBBF. We have also talked to them to release the money when we needed it the most, before we traveled for the Basketball African League (BAL) competition.

"As we prepare for another league season, it is important that they release this money before it dunks off.

The Secretary General of the NBBF, Peter Njoku frustrated all efforts to hear the side of the federation. He failed to pick his calls when reached through his phone and ignored the text and WhatsApp messages sent to him.
