2022 NSF: Son of Ex Shooting Stars Player, five other Teqballers to represent Oyo State


As the new game of Teqball is featuring at the National Sports Festival for the first time in the history of the competition, six teqballers are to represent Oyo in the game.

The six teqballers comprise four male and two female.

Among the six players flying the flag of Oyo State at the festival is the son of a former player of Shooting Stars Sports Club, Abimbola Otubusin.

Abimbola, whose father, Idowu Otubusin was an accomplished footballer, who played for the then IICC Shooting Stars of Ibadan in the 1970s and 80s, will feature in the maiden appearance of teqball at the National Sports Festival in Delta State, alongside five others

The other teqballers, billed to fly the state flag at Delta 22, are Opeyemi Oladipupo, Akande Taoheed as well as Olasupo Olawale, all male.

The female players are Mojisola Ogunyemi and Esther Akindele.

The Chief Training Officer for the State Teqball Association Prince Bola Adeyinka explained that the six teqballers qualified to represent the state following their splendid performance at the recently held Invitational Interstate Teqball Championship in Ibadan.

Prince Adeyinka, who is also the Chief Technical Instructor for the game in the state, recalled that the two day teqball championship was held on Friday October 21st and Saturday 22nd October 2022 at the Lekan Salami stadium Adamasingba Ibadan.

The final results of the two day championship, released by the Chief Training Officer of the State Teqball Association, are hereby listed below:
