2022 National Sports Festival Will Hold As Scheduled – Delta State Govt Reassures Nigerians

The Local Organising Committee of the 21st National Sports Festival, Delta 2022 has revealed that the games will go ahead as scheduled, dispelling rumour of any postponement of November 28 commencement date of the tournament.

Chairman of Delta state Sports Commission, who is also the president of Athletics Federation of Nigeria and Co-Chairman of local organising committee Tonobok Okowa disclosed this during a press briefing in Asaba.

He said contrary to doubt and fears over the readiness of facilities for the Sports Festival, Delta State is ready to host the other 35 states and Abuja to a thrilling Nigeria’s biggest sporting event.

He also revealed that the games torch is expected in the state in next few days.

At the 21st National Sports Festival in Edo, Team Delta topped the medals table after winning 158 gold, 116 silver, and 110 bronze, while Team Edo, the host, came second with 129 gold, 104 silver and 108 bronze.
