2022 WAFCON: Waldrum Gets Plumptre Boost Ahead 1/4 Final Clash With Cameroon

After missing the last two matches due to injury, Nigeria's Super Falcons defender, Ashleigh Plumptre, is set to return to the team for the quarter-final game, BSNsports.com.ng understand

The Leicester City defender was in action in the opening group C match against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa where she sustained the injury.

She trained alone before the game against Botswana and returned to the team training for the final group game against Burundi but the team coach Randy Waldrum left her on the bench.

The American gaffer during a post-match conference confirmed the return of the defender and further said she will be available for the game against Cameroon.

 "She's fit and ready to play, it is my job to protect the players and ensure they are in top shape. She trained yesterday and she will be available for Cameroon," he said.
