Nigeria's 4×400M Mixed Relay Team have qualified for the final of the event at the 2022 World Athletics Championship in Oregon, United States, BSNsports.com.ng understands.

Despite finishing outside the top 4 in Heat 1, Team Nigeria booked qualification after clocking 3:14.59 to finish with the next two best times after automatic qualifications.

The quartet of Samson Nathaniel, Patience Okon-George, Dubem Amene and Imaobong Nse Uko competed for the race from lane 3 during the Heat.

Though starting on a strong note, they finished the race in 5th position behind the United States, Netherlands, Poland and Italy with a time of 3:14:59. But needed to wait for the result of Heat 2 and results of countries that finished in the 4th and 5th position with a time lower than theirs, to go through to the final

It was delight for the quartet as the results from Heat 2 favoured Nigeria as they bettered the time of the country's in 4th and 5th place and therefore qualified for the final race.
