After securing a win in both legs of the 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifier against Liberia, the report coming from the camp of Cape Verde is not palatable, BSNsports.com.ng can report.
Despite going down 1-2 against Nigeria's Super Eagles at home in the matchday 2, they bounced back strongly in the third match against Lone of Liberia and recorded a 1-2 away win in Ghana.
The impressive run continue in the second leg at home with another 1-0 win to go second on the table behind Nigeria.
The report suggest that the duo of Carlos Ponck and Helder Tavares were involved in the car accident on Tuesday afternoon near Ceasaria Evoria Airport on their way to home.
Both players were unhurt in the crash and they were presently in a stable condition.
Tavares netted the only goal in their 1-2 home loss to Super Eagles.
Cape Verde will face Nigeria in the matchday 6 of the qualifier to determine the winner of the group.
