The match which was played at the Accra Sports Stadium saw Cape Verde came back from a goal down to a 1-2 win. It was the Lone Star of Liberia that dominated the game from the blast of the whistle but were unable to break down the backline of the away team. Their breakthrough finally came in the 45th through Harmon and returned to the dressing room with a lead. Cape Verde came into the second half as the better side and their efforts paid off in the 52nd minute as Monteiro scored a leveler. As the game is gradually winding down, Rodriguez popped up the volume of the game as he netted the winning goal in the 92nd minute and handed the away side maximum points. The result of the game moved Cape Verde second position with 4 points behind Nigeria.
