2022 World Cup Qualifiers: 'We Will Be Ready By September' - Rohr
By Sampson Adedeji
Despite failing to secure a win in the double header international friendly match against Indomitable Lions of Cameroon, head coach of Nigeria's Super Eagles Gernot Rohr said the team will be ready for the 2022 World Cup qualifier slated to start in September, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
Cameroon held Nigeria to a goalless draw in Austria on Tuesday after securing a narrow win over Nigeria in the first game played at the same venue last Friday.
Football fans across the country and beyond demonstrated their anger on the performances of the Super Eagles in the games but the Franco-german gaffer has assured Nigerians of an improved Super Eagles team in September.
“I think we’ll be ready by September for our world cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde."
“In the beginning of September we only have a few days to prepare and four days later we have to play in Cape Verde."
The two first matches are very very important. When you see the result of Cape Verde against Cameroon they beat them 3-1 on their synthetic pitch, we know already that it’ll be a very difficult match.” He said.
