2023 AFCON: Angola Reach Quarter Final After 9th Attempt

The Palancas Negras of Angola have eventually qualified for the quarter-final of the African Cup of Nations after the 9th attempt, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Angola reached the round of 16 of the competition in Ivory Coast after topping their group and set up a clash against the Brave Warriors of Namibia.

Playing in Abidjan, after 30 minutes of scoreless draw, winger Gelson Dala opened the scoring in the 36th minute and doubled his side's lead in the 42nd minute.

Namibia tried to come back in the second and the Angolan side on the back football.

But it was Palancas Negras who scored again in the 66th minute through Mabululu and wrapped up the with a 3-0 scoreline.
