2023 AFCON: Barcelona Defender Predict Winner Dump Nigeria

FC Barcelona defender Jules Kounde has joined the bookmakers who have ignored the Super Eagles of Nigeria when it comes to naming the African Cup of Nations favourites, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Kounde who came to Senegal earlier in the week listed Senegal, Morocco, Algeria and Ivory Coast as the top favourites.

And decided to not mention Nigeria but admitted that there are a lot of good teams in the competition.

 “I see it quite open (the CAN). I think there are quite a few teams that can compete to win.

Obviously, Senegal is one with a very good, young team, with managers who have a lot of experience. 

Above all, they are the reigning champions. Obviously, I think of teams like Morocco who performed very well at the World Cup. 

There are really good teams like Cameroon, Algeria, and also Ivory Coast who will be at home. 

There are a lot of quality teams. I can't wait to follow her. It's going to be a great party. 

For my preference, given that there is no Benin (laughter), she will go to Senegal", he said.
