2023 AFCON: Bayo Ends Equatorial Guinea Dream

The dream of the Nzalang Nacional of Guinea to reach the quarter-final of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast has ended, BSNSports.com.ng reports.
The Spanish-speaking country proved the bookmakers wrong by topping group A which consisted of the African soccer powerhouse Ivory Coast and Nigeria.
They finished on top of the group with 7 points ahead of Nigeria and Ivory CoastÂ
They faced Guinea brimming with confidence but it was never meant to be as they lost by a lone goal in the round of 16.
It was Mohammed Bayo who netted the winning goal in the 90th minute and ensured progress for the French-speaking country for the first time.
