The battle lines was officially drawn on Thursdsy, as the 24 African nations got to know who they will be facing in the group stages of the Africa Cup of Nations, tagged Cote d’Ivoire 2023.
It is a West African affair in Group A as hosts Cote d'Ivoire were paired with regional rivals Nigeria, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
The 69-year-old Frenchman told CAFOnline after the draw.
"We've made up our minds now. We know what we're going to work on. Facing a team like Nigeria and their attacking prowess motivates us because we're not looking for the easy way out. We'll be supported by an entire nation, which is an incredible assetâ€.
Six venues across Ivory Coast will host matches, including two stadia in Abidjan along with newly constructed venues in Bouake, Korhogo, San Pedro and Yamoussoukro.
The top two in each of the six groups will progress along with the best four third-placed teams.
The final will take place at Abidjan's 65,000 capacity Alassane Ouattara Stadium on 11 February as the new African champions are crowned.
