2023 AFCON: CAF President Debunks Change Of Host Rumor

The President of the African soccer ruling body Patrice Motsepe has debunked the rumour going around that Ivory Coast will be stripped of the hosting right of the 2023 African Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The competition was supposed to be held this summer but was postponed to January/February 2024 due to some reasons, including the readiness of some vital facilities.

Motsepe during a press conference organised

On Thursday afternoon ahead of the draws which will be held later in the day, made it clear that there is no other plan than for the tournament to be held in Ivory Coast.

 â€œThe AFCON in Ivory Coast will have world-class facilities. Ivory Coast is Plan, A, Plan B, and Plan C.”

“We’re preparing for the most successful and the most competitive AFCON here in Ivory Coast", he said.
