With two games to the end of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, crisis is presently rocking the referee's commission of the African Soccer governing body, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Moroccan official Redouane Jiyed was initially appointed to take charge of the third-place play-off between DR Congo and South Africa but was later removed.

According to the update from Ivory Coast, the Moroccan felt betrayed because he believed he should have been appointed for the final but Dahane Beida of Mauritania was appointed.

The referee's commission decided to replace the Moroccan with Tessema Bamlak of Ethiopia.

Despite the backlash and hit, the referee's commission insisted that Beida would be in charge of the final between Nigeria and Ivory Coast.
