Barely 24 hours to their crucial 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Gambia, the players of Mali have refused to train due to unpaid allowances and bonuses, BSNSports.com.ng report.

The players complained that they have not been paid since the round of 16 of the last African Cup of Nations.

They further stated of numerous allowances they were being owed dated back to 2021.

The team defender Boubakar Kiki Kouyate confirmed what is going on in the team's camp.

" I'm not going to lie, we had bonuses to pay. We still haven't received the bonuses yet.

“The pre-match training scheduled for this evening is therefore threatened", he said.
