Barely 20 days to the start of the 2023 African Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, an injury crisis is currently rocking the camp of the Elephants of Cote d'Ivoire, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The latest update from the team's camp indicates that star striker and Borrusia Dortmund forward Sebastian Haller is set to miss out on the competition.

The Ivorian International was introduced into the German Bundesliga game against Mainz 05 in the 63rd and he was replaced again in the 86th minute.

The skillful striker suffered an ankle injury following a dangerous tackle, sparking concerns over his participation in the AFCON.

The Dortmund striker is presently in Abidjan and the Federation of Ivorian Football has employed two physiotherapists to work on him.

The 2015 champions will play the opening game against Guinea Bissau before facing the Super Eagles in the second group match.
