2023 AFCON: Mali Faces Heavy Fines, Sanctions From CAF

Following the unruly behaviour of its players, the African soccer governing body is set to impose heavy fines and sanctions on Mali, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The Eagles of Mali players harassed the centre referee after their elimination from the competition on Saturday.

The Malians suffered a 1-2 defeat to the 9-man Ivory Coast and the players believed it was the referee that was responsible for their defeat.

The football body has set up a panel that will look into the issue and the proper punishment will be meted out to the unruly players
