Man of the moment, Moroccan head coach Walid Regragui has threatened to dump the team if they failed to live up to expectations in the 2023 African Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng report
The Atlas Lions of Morocco were surprised semifinalis at the just-concluded 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, becoming the first African country to achieve the feat.
They succeeded in getting the better of football bigwigs like Belgium, Spain and Portugal and finished in the 4th position after losing Third-place match to Croatia.
The former Wydad Casablanca coach has shifted his attention to the next AFCON that will be held in Ivory Coast in the winter of 2024.
Regragui believed they have what it takes to be champions of the continent but said they must at least reach the semi-final or else he will resign.
"We at least be in the semi-final of the next AFCON (2024), if we don't make it to the last 4, I will leave the team", he said.
