2023 AFCON: Onuachu, Moffi, Nwakali Missing As NFF Unveils Super Eagles List

The trio of Paul Onuachu, Terem Moffi and Kelechi Nwakali missed out as the Nigeria Football Federation on Friday announced the 25-man list of the Super Eagles for the African Cup of Nations, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

The team coach Jose Peseiro last week released the provisional list of 41 players that is expected to resume camp in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on Monday.

The football body decided to cut the team to 25 players on Friday.

The African soccer governing body has allowed each participating country to list 27 players for the competition but only 23 will be allowed to dress for the match.

The Portuguese gaffer listed three goalkeepers, nine defenders, five midfielders and eight forwards.

Skipper Ahmed Musa and William Troost Ekong staged a return to the team.

Seven players include Olorunleke Ojo, Stanley Nwabili, Bruno Onyeamachi, Ralph Onyedika, Bright Osayi, Victor Boniface, Ademola Lookman will be making their debut in the tournament.
