2023 AFCON: Peseiro Backs Zaidu Sanusi Despite Criticism

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Paseiro has thrown his support behind Super Eagles left-back, Zaidu Sanusi despite the massive criticism back home in Nigeria, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Peseiro hailed Sanusi for his display against Angola in the one-nil win adding that all his players did well in the game. 

“It’s not easy playing wing back in the system because they must go and come back. Zaidu played better in this match than last match and I know any player can make mistakes at any point. All my players did well.”

Super Eagles will take on the winner of Saturday’s quarter-final duel between Cape Verde’s Blue Sharks and the Bafana Bafana of South Africa. That semi-final encounter is scheduled for the Stade de la Paix in Bouake on Wednesday.
