2023 AFCON Final: Sanusi Back In Training, Doubtful Against Ivory Coast

Injured Super Eagles defender Zaidu Sanusi resumed training on Thursday ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations final match but remained a big doubt for the game, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Sanusi missed the semi-final match against South Africa after sustaining an injury in the quarter-final match against Angola.

The FC Porto defender trained separately from the team on Thursday as they resumed preparation for the final.

"I don’t know if he (Sanusi) can recover, I hope he can recover for the next match but he’s out now because of injury. 

"He didn’t do any practice these last few days,” the team coach Jose Peseiro told the media.

Super Eagles will face the Elephant of Ivory Coast in the final on Sunday.
