2023 AFCON Qualifier: Adeleye Targets Starting Role Against Sierra Leone

Israel-based goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye has set his eyes on the starting role for the upcoming game against Sierra Leone, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Super Eagles of Nigeria will be guest of the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone on Matchday 5 of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier at the Sam Kanyon Stadium in Liberia.

Adeleye alongside Victor Sochima ( Rivers United) and Ojo Olorunleke ( Enyimba) the invited goalkeeper for the clash and the 23-year-old shot-stopper is focused on getting the starting shirt.

He made the statement while speaking to PUNCH Correspondent and he further said they are ready to win the game.

“I feel great, it’s good to be back. I’m working hard to get my chance and I keep praying as well to be able to use it well when the time comes. 

The training is intensifying for us to be ready for the game and I’m looking forward to it as well. With hard work and teamwork, we go there, give our best and play to win, so, we can be at the AFCON,” he said.
