2023 AFCON Qualifier: Babangida Tips Super Eagles To Top Table

President of Professional Footballers Association of Nigeria (PFAN), Tijani Babangida has tipped the Super Eagles of Nigeria to top the Group A table in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifiers
The three-time African champions Super Eagles were drawn in the same group with Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau Sao Tome And Principe/Mauritius where the top two teams qualified for the finals to be hosted by Côte d'Ivoire.
"We can pick up the ticket, it's a new dawn and new Super Eagles under a new coach and they are going to give other players more chances, i see us coming out top of that group." The former Ajax winger told BSN Sports.
Advising the incoming new Coach, the 1996 Olympics gold medallist said the yet to be named Coach should listen to the advise of the assistants for good results.
"If you are talking about coaches, you can only talk about the chief coach, not the assistants, the assistants can only advise him, if the new coach can listen to Salisu and other assistants I believe it will help him get good results.
He predicted that the incoming coach will make changes in the team.
"There are a lot of changes that will come, as you can see there are a lot of young players who have a hunger to play in various positions.
He said the Coach should stay in Nigeria to watch the league to pick the best legs for the national team.
"The coach should stay in Nigeria to see our local players and make his team from there he can choose players and joined them with the professionals."
