2023 AFCON Qualifier: Boniface Set To Debut Against Sao Tome In Uyo

In-form Nigeria and Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface is set to make his awaited debut against Sao Tome and Principe in the final round of the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Boniface hit the limelight last season following his distinctive performance for the Belgian Jupiler League side Union St Gillaloise.

The performance earned him a move to the German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen this summer and he has hit the ground running in Germany.

Having been sure of their participation in the biennial tournament, the Super Eagles of Nigeria will face Sao Tome in the final group game of the qualifier.

The official list of the invited players is yet to be released but the German club via its social media handle confirmed the invitation for Boniface.

" The Eagle has landed. 🇳🇬🦅", the club confirmed.

The match is slated for the Goodswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on September 9th.
