2023 AFCON Qualifier: Debutant Happy To Make A Winning Start With Super Eagles

After recording a victory in his first competitive game for Nigeria, goalkeeper Adebayo Adeleye has expressed his happiness over the winning debut for the team, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Having appeared for the team in a friendly game against Algeria, Adeleye was in goal against the Leone Stars of Sierra Leone which make it his first competitive game for the team.

During a chat with the Punch correspondent, the Israel-based goalkeeper frowned at conceding two goals in the game but focused more on the AFCON qualification.

"At least I made a winning start with the team regardless.

“No goalkeeper likes conceding goals but we must not forget that the team won and we are through to next year’s Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast", he stated.
