2023 AFCON Qualifier: I'm Confident We Can Shock Nigeria Again- Sierra Leone Defender

Ahead of the opening group game of the 2023 qualifier Leone Stars of Sierra Leone defender Osman Kakay has expressed his optimism about getting a positive result against Nigeria, BSNsports.com.ng reports.

Sierra Leone came from a 0-4 down to level 4-4 against Super Eagles the last time they visited Nigeria.

The Queen Park Rangers player made the statements as the Leone Stars continued its preparations for the game in Guinea.

“I am optimistic going into both encounters against Nigeria and Guinea-Bissau. Firstly, I am convinced that we have the players to match a strong Nigerian team.

“We have a good chance if we apply ourselves well. We can get positive results to help us qualify. 

"I know both games are not going to be easy. Guinea Bissau was in the recent AFCON, so they have the experience as well, but I am hopeful and look forward to both games," he said.

Sierra Leone is expected to arrive the country this weekend ahead of the game slated for Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
