2023 AFCON Qualifier: Nigeria Go Top As Sierra Leone Draw Guinea Bissau 2-2

Nigeria's Super Eagles are now the new leaders of Group A in the 2023 African Cup of Nations qualifier after Leone Stars of Sierra Leone held Guinea Bissau to a 2-2 draw, BSNaports.com.ng gathered.


Guinea Bissau sat pretty well on top of the group on Thursday after the opening group game following their 5-1 thrashing of Sao Tome and Principe while Nigeria beat Sierra Leone 2-1.


But the story changed on Monday afternoon after the Super Eagles of Nigeria defeated Sao Tome and Principe by 10-0.


In the game played in Conakry, Guinea the adopted home of Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau was leading comfortably with two second half brace from Jorgi Intima 47' and 52' minute.


But two quick goals from Karigbo and Kamara ensured that the Leone Stars secured a point against Guinea Bissau.


With the result, Super Eagles now lead group A with a maximum of 6 points followed by Guinea Bissau 4, Sierra Leone 1 and Sao Tome with no point.
