The chances of Nigeria's Super Eagles qualifying for the 2023 African Cup of Nations this weekend brightened after Sao Tome and Principe held Sierra Leone at home, BSNSports.com.ng report.

Sao Tome netted the opening goal as Luis Lea Dos gave the away side the lead in the 43rd minute before Mustapha Bundu leveled up for the host early in the second half.

Lea Dos completed his brace midway into the second half as Sierra Leone's late equalizer ensured the game ended in a 2-2 draw.

The result means that Nigeria's Super Eagles will qualify automatically if they secured 6 points in the doubleheader game against Guinea Bissau starting this weekend.
