2023 AFCON Qualifier: Super Eagles Commence Training On Monday In Abuja

Super Eagles of Nigeria will have its first training session at 5:00 pm on Monday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Jose Peseiro who arrived Nigeria on Sunday morning immediately visited and inspected the pitch of the stadium ahead of their first training. He requested that the grass should be reduced by cutting it to allow football flow better on it.

Three players: Moses Simon, Kelechi Iheanacho and Kevin Akpoguma have arrived in the camp as Victor Osimhen and 19 other players are expected to join the team today (Monday).

Group A table toppers, Nigeria have maximum 6 points from two games and closely followed by Guinea Bissau who have garnered 4 points. Super Eagles will be among the first countries to qualify for the 2024 African Nations Cup if they beat Guinea in the two legged matches. Nigeria will host Guinea Bissau on Friday at 5:00pm with the return leg holding three days later.
