2023 AFCON Qualifier: Torunarigha Reveals Reason He Switched Allegiance To Nigeria

New Super Eagles invitee Jordan Torunarigha has revealed the reason why he switched allegiance to Nigeria after representing Germany at youth level, BSNSports.com.ng reports.

Torunarigha alongside alongside Gift Orban and Victor Boniface are the new faces invited to the Super Eagles camp by Jose Peseiro for the Sao Tome game.

While speaking on NFF TV, the KAA Gent defender said, he returned to the country to show those who are criticizing him for dumping Nigeria what he can offer.

“It is nice to meet the players and I think all of them are nice people.

"It is also nice to train with big players like Osimhen and Chukwueze,” Torunarigha said.

“Captain Troost-Ekong and Collins have helped me to find my spot in Eagles. 

"This is my first call-up and I hope I will be given time to show the fans, who have been criticizing me for denying Nigeria all through, what I am made of. 

"I am a young guy and I want to show Nigerians what I can offer", he said.

The left-footed defender has represented Germany at all youth levels and was part of the German team at the last Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.
